"Nobody gets murdered nowadays," said Mr. Horace dispiritedly. There he was, supposed to be a crime reporter on the Daily Snapshot, fobbed off with a 'Heart-throb' story. No doubt he could stir the romantic hearts of the Snapshot's readers with a story of a long-neglected woman returned from years of oblivion to claim the man of her heart. There might even be a little blackmail in it somewhere. But it was very small beer.
