Surprisingly, the books still stand up, whilst they are not of the first order in terms of literary crime fiction, they are certainly better than many of the other prolific authors in the genre. They also have the added bonus of superb 'lurid' jacket designs. A full set in wrappers would indeed be a sight to behold.
