Vincent Starrett Biography - Further Information
Vincent Starrett was born in Canada on 26 October 1886. Whilst a mystery novelist in his own right, he is most readily associated, today, with Sherlock Holmes. His classic book, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, is a cornerstone title for collectors. He was also the co-founder of The Baker Street Irregulars. As a poet, teacher and scholar he did publish other works, not listed above. Due to the nature of the site we have confined ourselves to the criminous work. The author died in 1974.
