The victim is a games-mistress who is poisoned with somewhat prosaic prussic acid while umpiring a school cricket match. Suspicion might fall on many people: outraged wives, blackmailed husbands and deceived lovers, for all are present to watch the match. To give away the real culprit would spoil the reader's interest in an original and racy story which it is a joy to read. |
