Nicholas Meyer Biography - Further Information
Nicholas Meyer was born in New York on 24 December 1945.
He worked in the film industry as a publicist and editor. He is best known for
his two Sherlock Holmes pastiches, widely regarded by most, as amongst
the best in the genre. The first did attract some controversy in Sherlockian
circles, due to the prominence of the drug related theme. They remain,
however, vastly superior to many of the other pastiches. In all cases,
the US editions precede the UK. Meyer also wrote two non-criminous
novels, as well as several plays for television, stage and screen. |
