Stepping from the plane at Miami, Marny Sanderson had afrightening sense of impending danger. For one moment she paused, almost tempted to turn around, re-enter the plane, go back to New York, anywhere. Recovering, she followed her employer Tim Wales, President of the Wales Air Lines, down the runway, little knowing the drama, or rather the tragedy, in which she was about to play a leading part. M. G. Eberhart has never written a crime story more packed with action and sustained interest. As always her subtle use of atmosphere and background—this time the tropical, sun-drenched, pleasure loving Miami—lend intensity and conviction to a thrilling mystery. |
