John Wainwright Bibliography

UK and US First Edition Books

Joyce Porter
Series Characters: Supt Gilliant, Chief Inspector Lennox, Inspector Lyle Supt Charles Ripley

The following bibliography - Checklist contains the crime and mystery fiction titles
British edition precede the American in all cases, many not released in the USA
The author is appreciated by collectors as well as readers and provides a nice collecting challenge to amass a full set
First editions are not prohibitively priced in general, though not always easy to find
Relatively small print runs and library allocations make some titles tricky in fine collectable condition
Many of the UK books suffer from page tanning due to cheap acidic paper stock - this must be endured as fine books are all but impossible in many cases
Macmillan dust jackets with the red spines are also prone to fading, light fade can occur even under artificial light
