SYNOPSIS
The Golden Statuette of King Khatra, one of the finest pieces of Fourth Dynasty craftsmanship known to collectors, nevertheless had a sinister history. Death, silent and horrible, followed inevitably in its wake. It was the murder of Lu Cohen which first began that series of mysterious tragedies which were destined to set the Metropolitan Police, led by Superintendent Bellamy, a problem difficult to solve. Bellamy was acutely aware of the dark and secret background and of the evil figures which moved like malignant wraiths behind the veil of night. But Monsieur Dillon, Chief of the Paris Surete, came to his aid, and together they won through to final victory.
