Further Information
Horace McCoy was born in Tennessee on 14th April 1897 and although his books are few in number they are important, and highly regarded, in the development of the hard boiled crime genre. There are numerous uncollected short stories including a series featuring the character Jerry Frost. He was primarily a scriptwriter in Hollywood from 1936 up until his death in 1955. His first book remains a cornerstone title.
