More Information About the life of This Author
William Hulbert Footner was born in Canada in 1879 and passed away in 1944. Although best known for his crime fiction and mystery novels he did also write some non-fiction. It's fair to say that the author is not well known today, to the general public at least, he does, however, remain very popular with collectors of mystery fiction first editions and readers of Golden Age mysteries.
His two main series characters are Madame Rosika Storey and Amos Lee Mappin
