Further Information Eric Ambler, born 1909, is regarded by many as the greatest of all thriller writers, he is certainly one of the most collectable. Early titles are rare books and highly collectable; later titles are relatively easy to find. Apart from The Intercom Conspiracy, the UK editions precede the US. There are a few alternative titles. The 'Eliot Reed titles were written in conjunction with Charles Rodda. Eric Ambler won numerous literary awards and was awarded the OBE by the Queen in 1981. He passed away in 1998.
