Edgar Box, pseudonym for Gore Vidal (Eugene Luther Vidal
Jr) was born in America 3 October 1925. He served in the army and
worked in politics. Most of his work were novels, plays and screenplays.
He only wrote three mystery books and all featured his series character
Peter Cutler Sargeant. The books are fairly pedestrian, in terms of
plotting, though the settings do have an entertaining appeal. They seem
to be enduring as well as they were reprinted many times in paperback.
UK editions in jacket are not common though none of the above would be
regarded as particularly rare or valuable. |
