DOUGLAS GORDON BROWNE is the son of Gordon Browne, R.I., R.B.A., and grandson of Hablot K. Browne, better known as " Phiz." Although brought up as a painter, at the age of 27, shortly before the War, Mr Browne started writing short stories and more recently produced a number of detective stories, in several of which figured the amateur detective, Major Hemyock, who is also an archaeologist. |
